Before the Internet became famous for the Web, it was known for its software downloads. Utilities, shareware apps and the like were readily available -- provided you knew where to look. It still holds true today, only now there are thousands of places to look. Let me narrow your list.
I keep my downloads in a separate folder called Downs95. This folder is not on my C: drive. I recommend you do the same thing.
Finding a key but obscure or obsolete piece of software through traditional retail channels is a task I would not wish on an enemy. But if you know where to look on the Web, there is no code out of reach.

| Kids Domain | Software downloads organized by age groups. |
| Tune Up | The place to download PC maintenance. |
| Xoom | Library of 75,000 Web objects and graphics. |
| BugNet | Home of the bug fix. |
