I like my Operating System to look the same over the years.
One of the first things I do is change the basic appearence.
| Setting the Desktop Appearence |
- Start menu is set by right clicking the task bar all the way at the bottom of the desktop.
Then select Properties and uncheck the box "Group similar tasks". I take the defaults on the other settings.
Then select the Start Menu tab and click the radio button called Classic Menu.
- Right click a blank area of the desktop and select properties.
From Display Properties tabs control a number of features of the desktop that can be set.
- Turn off Aero ... Right click Desktop > Select Personalize > Window Color and Appearence > Select Windows Vista Basic > Click Apply then OK
|
| Setting the Control Panel |
- Setting the control panel appearance is done after launching the control panel. I use the Classic control panel because I find it easier. The alternative is Category view.
|
| Setting the Application Appearence |
- This is done in a number of ways that are application specific. Most are accessed from the application's menu > tool choice.
